IKEA is my BUDDY!

I absolutely love browsing interior design Instagram accounts.
The Scandinavian style with white and natural wood feels so elegant and calming — I can’t help admiring it. And then there are those bold South American-inspired spaces with colorful walls and vibrant tiles that make me feel instantly cheerful. There are so many talented, stylish people in the world!
But let’s be honest — beautiful, timeless furniture usually comes with a beautiful (and not-so-timeless) price tag.
Sometimes I feel like declaring, “That’s it! Full makeover!” and replacing everything at once with gorgeous pieces. But of course, that’s not exactly realistic for an ordinary flower farming family like us.
And that’s where IKEA comes in — my trusty buddy.
IKEA sits in that comfortable low-to-mid price range. Yes, the custom pieces with 25-year warranties can get pricey, but if you choose ready-made items wisely and add your own little twist, you can create something really lovely.
Maybe they last three to ten years — but honestly, if something lasts ten years, that’s pretty good! And when it’s time for a change, you can refresh your space again without too much guilt.
I know this is starting to sound like a sponsored post (it’s not, I promise!).
The reason I’m saying all this is because I recently repainted my kitchen wall myself. It used to be a pale yellow, and I changed it to a slightly muted green. It turned out cuter than I expected.
Then I noticed that the cupboard we’d been using for 15 years was starting to suffer from Cameron Highlands humidity — a bit warped here and there, doors not quite closing properly. So I thought, why not finally replace it? And maybe add a new work table too?
The result? I’m genuinely happy with it.

It’s not luxurious or high-end, but the kitchen feels clean, fresh, and charming. And I have a feeling cooking is about to become a lot more fun♥
Oh — and one more important thing.
The green wall and white furniture make the perfect backdrop for our flowers. They really help the blooms stand out beautifully.
